Scholarship and Grants
DSSRI currently offers scholarship and grants for our community, Our scholarships and grants are available to all Rhode Island residents with Down syndrome.
Education Development Scholarship
The Education Development Scholarship is available to individuals looking to further their education or develop new skills. This scholarship awards up to $1,000.00 paid directly to the school or program of your choice.
Educational Advocacy Grant
The Educational Advocacy Grant is available to individuals and caretakers to assist with professional educational advocacy services. The grant awards up to $500 paid directly to the agency. This grant is specifically geared to supporting individuals with Down syndrome in Rhode Island and their families to acquire the necessary support needed in the education system.
Assistive Technology and Tools Grant
The Assistive Technology and Tools Grant is available to individuals and caretakers, to support their child with Down syndrome and/or the school with assistive technology, seating, and play. DSSRI will award the funds directly to the required vendor.

2021 Jailton Rodrigues
We are happy to announce Jailton Rodrigues as the recipient of our first annual Self Advancement Scholarship! Jailton graduated from Lincoln High School in the spring and was awarded a $1,000 scholarship which he will use to further his knowledge of music. Jailton's mother, Nicy Delgado shares, "Thank you is the least I can say to you for showing my son Jailton so much love. We appreciate everything you have done for us. I will forever be grateful!"
